A fascinating pair of signed portraits by the French Orientalist painter Emile Marin.

The two paintings bear the inscription 'Tangier' which represents where Marin painted the two figures. Marin is best known for depicting scenes of everyday life in Tangier as well as the characters that populated the debauched and labyrinthine streets of the old town. This pair of portraits gives a fascinating insight into the colourful and cosmopolitan atmosphere of the port town whilst Marin was living and working there.
